Limo Rentals Have Become the Norm

Monday, March 30th, 2015

It’s amazing how versatile the use of a limo is.  I’ve always thought that only the wealthy and upper class rode in limousines, but I’m coming to find that many middle-class folks rent them for many different types of occasions.  They are now becoming more of a practical use as well as use for special occasions.

For example, Town Cars and sedans are popularly rented for trips to and from the airports as well as corporate or business needs.  Many choose limo companies over taxi because of the cleanliness and professionalism that is typically found with these types of transportation.  Not to mention the affordability– you could rent a limo for the same price as a taxi.

Many find limousine rentals of great convenience for group trips as well.  For example, the classic Town Car stretch limos and the SUV limos are perfect accommodations for 10+ passengers who need a fun and safe ride for wine tours, city tours, concerts, casinos, etc.  Party buses and charter buses are also the available for larger groups.  As you can see, many limo companies rent out more than just limousines.

Besides basic transport, limos are popularly used for more elaborate occasions as well– like weddings, proms, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthdays, Quinceaneras, and more.   For these types of events, the stretch limos and party buses are typically the favorites.  Many love the traditional elegant Town Car stretch limo in black or white, however these vehicles can only sit up to 10 passengers.  For those who like something more edgy and need more room tend to go for the larger SUV limos which are accessorized with a lot of great interior features.

It’s not uncommon to find a flat screen TV, CD/DVD players, special party lighting, full refreshments bars with complementary drinks, sound system, music with bluetooth connection, iPod connection so that you can play music from your own devices, and of course, the groovy leather seats that go around the back and sides of the limo.  As you can see, there are many attractive features that come with renting an SUV limo.

For those who like more moving space and more of a thrill will love the party buses.  They come in various sizes, from 20-passengers, to 30 and 40+.  The interior is usually decorated with a large flat screen TV, all the same music accessibility as the SUV limo, a wonderful sound system for dancing, dance pole, typically several wet cars, party lights, privacy shutters, hardwood floors, and more.  It’s great for party atmospheres such as bachelorette, birthdays, proms, and a night out with friends.

Limousines Were Named After Shepherds

Saturday, December 27th, 2014

Nearly everyone’s heard of limousines – they are the large, stretching high end vehicles that play popular roles as a trope in innumerable Hollywood films and novels. During the past few decades, obtaining a ride in a limousine has grown considerably more available to many people, most noticeably in America.

Yet, there are many things people do not know, or would not have guessed about limos – like the proven fact that they once were equally as long as any normal auto.

So, without a lot more ado, here are a few details about stretch limos the average individual possibly does not know.

First: original limos were simply automobiles which had separated cabins for the driver and the passengers.

More than 100 years ago, when the term limousine sprang up next to words like berline and brougham, and till this very day, a few countries utilize the word Limousine to just about identify what English-speakers know as a sedan. However, essentially, fourteen years following the limousineís official first appearance in 1902, it began to be referred to as: “a closed car seating 3 to 5 inside, with driver’s seat outside.”

There was nothing at all in the description regarding extended body lengths, or luxurious features. These were, nevertheless, lengthier compared to the normal automotive once they became well known in the Twenties and beyond. In essence, these limos contained a big seating arrangement at the rear of the automobile for 3 people, and an extra 2 collapsible car seats near to the chauffeur’s cabin, allowing for 5 individuals to squash in at a time with out too much difficulty, as well as an extra 2 travellers within the chauffeur’s cabin next to the operator.

Limousines were named after shepherds.

That is correct – the term “limousine” hails from the France country area of Limousin, either because of the likeness in style between Limousin shepherdís hoods and the look of the original limousine’s driver compartments’ sunroofs, or because of the cloaks drivers wore to guard their selves from the wind and rainfall, since original limousines did not harbor any kind of considerable coverage from the Nature’s elements.

The initial “stretch limo” was created in 1928.

Stretch limos started to be preferred soon after a music group in the late Twenties hired a little bus made much like a contemporary limo.

Then, this notion was extended — pun intended — to one hundred feet, and offered with Televisions, faxes, A/C, Internet access and, indeed, a whole spa. That is the world’s lengthiest limo… created by Jay Ohrberg of California, about eighteen years back in 1997.

These days, limousines continue to have well known functions in popular culture and so are symbolic of high class, ease, and the American Dream.

Limos are considered as luxurious vehicles for ground transportation and also they are hired for special events like weddings, proms and other celebrations. Those who want to reach their hotel or office or the conference venue from the airport, those who want to arrive at the venue of a corporate event in style or those who want to reach the hottest nightclubs comfortably, always prefer the limos. The Limo in the Driveway

Sunday, August 10th, 2014

If you ever make your way to the good ole’ south, I suggest you bring friends and a high quality camera because you are in for a treat with some of the most amazing sights from David Hill House.  Peer out the window overlooking the valley and beneath you lies the most beautiful, shiny white pristine object you have ever seen.  As it sits glistening in the sun, radiating from all angles, and beaming with confidence, a more careful glimpse would suggest that this lovely elongated body of a vehicle was in fact a limousine.

I stared in awe and stood star-strucked.  Why was there a limo parked outside the house?  Would I dare to dream that this beautiful fancy ride was for me?  For a moment, I allowed myself to believe it.  I was a kid in a candy store and could no longer stand and stare.  Before I knew it, my feet took off like a race horse, darting past the guest bath, down two flights of stairs, past the formal dining room, out the double doors, and suddenly, I came to a halt.

Holy cow!  This beautiful limo towered over me like the Empire State building.  I couldn’t take my eyes off the sexy sleek body on this vehicle which must have stretched as long as the Yangtze River.  The fender and headlights sparkled like a 2-carat diamond ring.  I took 3 steps towards the limo and saw nothing but my own reflection through the crystal clean glass, perfectly tinted like my Rayban shades.  Only, it looked cooler.

Eager to see what awaits inside, I slowly reached for the pure white handles.  Suddenly a shadow appeared from around the corner and I quickly pulled my hand back, as to not get caught red-handed.  My cheeks blushed a slight rouge and I raised my head to see a middle-aged man, finely dressed in his black Neiman Marcus suit and fancy tie, stand over me.  He glanced a quick smile at me and greeted me with a nod.  I noticed that his hands must be quite clean as it didn’t leave a trace of fingerprints on the door handle when he opened it.

I stood there and took a long whiff of the wonderful scent that emerged from inside the car.  It was reminiscent of the time Mom and Dad brought home our brand new Toyota Camry.  I still remember the day like it was yesterday.  I was only 8-years old, but it felt like Christmas.  Being inside the Camry was like being inside a brand new play house– you’re in awe of this larger-than-life object and  just want to explore and touch everything.  I was mesmerized by all the glove compartment, the dashboard, the roominess, and all the different buttons around the center console.  But what was most noticeable was the killer new car smell!  I closed my eyes, took a deep breath in, and devoured myself in the wonderful scent.

After a long breath out, I slowly opened my eyes and found myself standing before the beautiful limousine again.  Only, the door was opened and awaiting my entrance.  Or was it?  I felt a mix of confusion and curiosity all at once.  My good conscience tells me that I should remain outside.  However, my curiosity got the best of me and before I knew it, both feet were inside the beautifully carpeted limo.  All my senses were enlightened suddenly as I sank into the soft, plush black leather lounge seats, knowing that if I got too comfortable I would be in trouble.

My eyes quickly shot over to the sparkling crystal glasses hanging across the bar in perfect alignment.  Just below it was a bottle of champagne sitting in a silver bucket of ice, wrapped in an elegant silver bow .  I glanced to my right to see an impressive 32-inch flat screen television.  The carpeted floor was lined with beautiful purple neon lights that stretched a mile long.  I couldn’t believe the size of the interior!  I could get used to this!  I tilted my head back and closed my eyes, ready to immerse myself in amazing world of luxury.  But before I knew it, I heard an audible “A-hem”.

I looked over at the opened door and there stood the chauffeur with a non-approving look on his face.  I gave him a crooked smile and quickly stumbled out of the limousine, ready to die in embarrassment.  As I walked back to the entrance of the house, I glanced back and watched four young women dressed in sparkly mini skirts and high heels enter the limo while the chauffeur held the door open.  Must admit, I felt a bit of jealousy knowing that I was not one of those girls.  I bit my lower lip as I watched the limousine pull away, heading off to their next exciting destination.

I sighed and walked up the stairs to my room.  I turned and fell back into my bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.  Purple neon lights flashed before me and I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and before I knew it, I was back in the beautiful limousine.
